Tim Price
Appointed March 2015
Tim served as a Police Officer with Thames Valley Police (TVP) for thirty years in both uniformed and detective roles.
He was an accredited senior investigating officer which included leading anti-corruption investigations and was appointed Head of Public Protection for TVP. He was the TVP lead for Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA); a member of the Strategic Management Board; worked with Thames Valley Probation Service to form the joint MAPPA Unit; and authored MAPPA protocols. Tim has chaired MAPPPs at all levels, including at level three, delivered MAPPP chair training as well as conducting serious case reviews. He worked very closely with what was then the Hampshire and Thames Valley Circles pilot scheme (now Circles South East) and saw their contribution to reducing the risks of harm and reoffending. He was so impressed with their work that on retirement he became a Circles SW volunteer and is currently a member of two Circles. Tim was a Lead Staff Officer for Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabularies (HMIC) leading inspections of forces, including reviewing their public protection performance. He now works as a self-employed consultant, specialising in anti-corruption in sport.
Tim has been an active Circle Volunteer for several years with considerable volunteering experience in a number of Circles of Support and Accountability in the South West.
Tim joined the Board of Trustees in 2015 and served as Chair since 2016. He was appointed Deputy Chair in 2022 and then Secretary in 2023.
