Jo Burden

Jo joined Circles South West in June 2013 bringing over 20 years experience in the criminal justice and crime prevention fields, in both the voluntary and statutory sectors.
Jo began her post-qualifying career as a Probation Officer with Avon & Somerset Probation Trust. For the following 16 years Jo worked for the charities Crime Concern, Rainer Crime Concern and Catch22 in senior operational management and business development roles securing, managing and developing front-line services in the Midlands, Wales and South West. The success of these services hinged on the contribution of community volunteers, collaborative approaches with partner organisations and successful income generation strategies. Whilst employed by Catch22, Jo also acted in the role of Business Advisor on behalf of the Department of Education supporting the growth of small Third Sector Organisations, and led on contract development in a private prison.
Jo is professionally qualified as a Probation Officer, Social Worker (HCPC registered) and (JNC) Youth & Community Worker. DipSW qualified, she is a Master of Social Work, has an academic background in psychology.
