Delivering circles of support and accountability to protect communities from sexual harm and sexual reoffending

Volunteer

Sam Wolf

Appointed September 2022

Before joining Circles at the end of 2022, Sam worked for 5 years at the NSPCC in Plymouth for their Harmful Sexual behaviour service, where she completed Assessment Intervention and Moving On assessments for young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour.

Sam has vast experience working with young people with harmful sexual behaviour and she particularly enjoys being creative in her approach. Sam is passionate about young people’s ability to change with support and sees Circles as an invaluable service for young people and adults who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviour.

Prior to the NSPCC Sam worked for Devon MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub) for a short period where she was responsible for managing and assessing risk to children and young people. This role included analysing received information in order to signpost to other agencies and other social work teams.

Sam completed her ASYE (Assessed Supported Year in Employment) at Plymouth City council for their referral and assessment service where she was one of the initial responding social workers to concerns raised about children. This included children who had been sexually harmed and was the start of her interest in preventing sexual harm.

Sam graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Social Work in 2012 and is a registered Social Worker.

In her spare time, Sam enjoys cycling, reading and listening to music and the occasional podcast.
