Devon volunteers honoured by High Sheriff

Circles South West volunteers in Devon were chosen by the High Sheriff of Devon to receive an award for excellence.

The award was presented on 22nd March 2023 in Exeter to four of our long serving volunteers who collected it on behalf of the entirety of the Devon volunteer team.

The High Sheriff said he was impressed by the work of Circles South West and by the dedication of our volunteers.

The volunteers were joined by one of our hard working Devon coordinators, John Wiseman.

When handing over the award the High Sheriff said:

“In recognition of your delivery of Circles of Support and Accountability, to protect communities from sexual harm and sexual offenders, helping clients to manage thought patterns and behaviours and their safe and purposeful reintroduction into the community.

On behalf of the people of Devon I warmly commend your exceptional and outstanding commitment to working with sexual offenders and helping to keep us all safe.”

We currently have 35 volunteers working in Devon, many of whom have taken part in several Circles.

This award is a testament to the talent and dedication to all our volunteers who work tirelessly to keep our communities safer.
