Circles South West Welcomes 20 New Volunteers in June

Circles South West is thrilled to announce the addition of 20 new volunteers to their team in June. This significant increase in volunteer numbers highlights the growing community support for the organisation’s mission to prevent sexual abuse and support the safe reintegration of offenders.
The new volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to making a positive impact. They will be involved in various projects, including Community Circles, Young People’s Circles, and Circles for people with intellectual disabilities. Each project focuses on providing support and accountability, helping core members work towards an offence-free life and reducing sexual harm in the community.
To welcome the new volunteers, Circles South West organised a comprehensive induction program. This included training sessions on the principles of Circles of Support and Accountability, safeguarding practices, and effective communication skills. The induction also provided an opportunity for new volunteers to meet and connect with existing team members, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
Lucy, the Volunteer Coordinator at Circles South West, expressed her excitement about the new additions, stating, “We are incredibly grateful to have such a dedicated group of new volunteers join us. Their enthusiasm and commitment are truly inspiring, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in our communities.”
The new volunteers have already begun their work, participating in initial meetings with core members and starting to build the trusting relationships that are central to the Circles model. Their involvement will not only enhance the support provided to core members but also contribute to the overall goal of creating safer communities.
Circles South West continues to seek passionate individuals who are interested in volunteering. With almost 200 volunteers now part of the organisation, the collective effort of these dedicated individuals is making a significant difference in the lives of many.
