Delivering circles of support and accountability to protect communities from sexual harm and sexual reoffending

Volunteer

Jane Barkes

Appointed January 2013

For the past 10 years Jane has been involved with, and is now the CEO of, The Footprints Project, a mentoring organisation for ex-offenders leaving custody.

From 1994-2001 she was a member of the Board of Visitors (now known as the Independent Monitoring Board) at Huntercombe YOI, serving as Chair for her final two years. This gave her experience of managing volunteers and working with prison staff and inmates. Prior to this she had been involved with visiting Prisoners’ Wives in the community and has sat on a number of committees such as Parochial Church Council, Parish Council, and the like. Jane has experience of running her own business and is a registered homoeopath.

Jane joined the Board in 2013 and has served as Secretary since 2016.
